The Chances Of An Asteroid Hitting Earth
Asteroid is predicted to hit Earth in 2032, but the possibility is very small. Now NASA has updated the chances of this collision, the possibility of which is increasing. The Center for Near Earth Object Studies (CNEOS), an agency under NASA that monitors near-Earth objects, said the chance of the asteroid 2024 YR4 hitting Earth in 2032 is now 3.1% or around 1 in 32.
NASA continues to change the probability of the asteroid hitting Earth. On January 28, the chance of this asteroid hitting Earth was 1.2% or about 1 in 83. That chance continued to rise, and in early February, the chance rose to 1.58% or 1 in 63.

On February 10, the probability rose again to 2.2% or 1 in 45. NASA responded to this change by deploying Digital Agency the Webb space telescope to study the asteroid 2024 YR4 in more depth, as quoted from Gizmodo, Wednesday (19/2/2025).
Keep in mind that, based on previous events, the chances of an asteroid hitting Earth often increase before decreasing significantly. According to Bruce Betts, chief scientist of the Planetary Society, more observations and modeling of the asteroid will reduce uncertainty AI ChatBot in its projected trajectory.
