I am a dreamer and a writer, one who started putting words to the page as a 7-year-old typing stories on a manual typewriter next to my journalist mother back in the early 1970s. 

That passion for creating stories has followed me throughout my life. 

I write to see the beauty in the ordinary and I write to understand the profound truths that are hidden in plain sight. I write for solace during times of heartbreak and for celebration during moment of joy.

My career has been fueled by writing, starting with  newspaper journalism more than two decades ago.

Now, during the day you can find me writing about college students, professors and cool program in my public relations job for a university. Outside of the day job, I turn my inspirations and observations into essays, poems, blogs, and stories for children.
